Sam qualified as a Solicitor in 2020 but has been working in Immigration Law since 2018.

He joined Newfields from a Top Tier firm, initially to oversee the firm’s EUSS contract with the Welsh Government, and he now leads the Government and Public Sector team. Sam works with public authorities and supports the firm’s commitments to deliver advice and training services tailored to NHS bodies in Wales and Welsh Government’s Social Care Workforce Policy Team.

With this background, Sam works with the wider Health and Care Team to support organisations trading in the private health and care sectors, including the Commercial Team on sponsorship and business immigration matters.

Sam is recognised as both a Rising Star and a Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500 2023. He has a longstanding commitment with Asylum Justice, providing pro bono advice and assistance to vulnerable clients, and is an Associate Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University. He is currently appointed to the Law Society’s Small Firms Committee and sits in the Membership Experience Group of the Law Society’s National Board for Wales.
